Roosevelt football coach Ron Adams helped organize a spring clean up of Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday, May 11. With the help of some Roosevelt players and other members of the community, the group cleaned trash and debris from the old graveyard. Oakwood Cemetery was established in 1869 on land donated by the John Clark family. Situated several hundred feet from the corner of Biddle and Ford Avenue, this landmark has weathered the storm of decay through the centuries and is tended to by a volunteer staff, slowly cleaning up the cemetery so it may reach the lofty, historic status it deserves.
